Uses of Solar Power
Solar power creates electricity, which is now used either locally or stored to power homes, businesses, and other kinds of buildings across the globe. In 2022 solar generated 4.5% of the world's electricity, compared to 1% in 2015 when the Paris Agreement to limit climate change was signed.
When solar power is converted into usable energy, this is often times used to generate heat for different types of buildings. Many large buildings need ventilated air to maintain indoor air quality. In cold climates, heating this air can use large amounts of energy. But a solar ventilation system can preheat the air, saving both energy and money.
